I woke up last night with some interesting thoughts in my head.
We are all drawing lines in this multidimensional canvas called world. Some lines are strong, some are faint, some are dotted, some are straight, some curly. They come in all different colours some are even multicoloured.
You can look at this whole canvas of the world and it sometimes looks like a bit of a mess but then you can also zoom in and see all of these lines interacting with each other in the most extraordinary ways, creating beautiful shapes of meaning. Then other lines get inspired by those and creating different shapes that are inspiring others.
The lines change over time. At some point, they turn faint as if the pen is running out of ink. That’s ok because they are making space of new lines to continue adding colour to the picture of the world.
Every once in a while there is a splash of turpentine on the canvas. Once the lines cross it they thin out, change their shape, direction and colour and some even disappear. These splashes can look pretty ugly but they also help the lines come together and share some of their ink with others to stop the fading out. When you zoom out you see it created the most beautiful rainbow colours.
All of us and our lifelines are creating something exceedingly beautiful and then we realise that what we created is also creating us.
Make sure you look out for each other in these times of turmoil, be kind and help where you can. We are all in this together. All of us strange and funny lines are constantly creating an extraordinarily beautiful picture of the world.
Or as the Māori people would say:
He aha te mea nui o te ao
Maku e ki atu
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata
Ask me what is the most important thing in the world
And I will tell you
It is people, it is people, it is people
Have a wonderful day!
